Come Home to Yourself (…and Don’t Forget to Moo 🐮)

@jennyandthehigh in Bitilasana, or Cow Pose

Hi, friend.

If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve been along for this wild little ride called Yoga Stoned USA—and I’m so grateful you’re here.

July has a way of asking us to do everything.

Go to the festivals.
See all the friends.
Stay out late.
Wake up early.
Drink more water.
Do more.
Be more.

Instead, I’d like to offer you a different invitation.

Come home to yourself.

Whether you’re heading to Lollapalooza, spending weekends in the sun, or simply feeling stretched a little thin lately, remember that your nervous system deserves just as much attention as your social calendar.

That’s exactly why I’m so excited for our next gathering.

Come Home to Yourself

Thursday, July 30 • 7–9 PM

RISE at The Salt Shed

We’ll spend the evening slowing things wayyyyy down with gentle restorative yoga, breathwork, and an immersive sound bath.

No pressure.
No performance.
No expectation to touch your toes.

Just space to exhale.

As a thank you for being part of this community…

Because yoga is healing.

But it’s also ridiculously fun.

Festival Survival Kit

Your Nervous System Will Thank You

Festival season is magical.

It’s also incredibly stimulating.

Thousands of people.
Loud music.
Heat.
Walking miles.
Standing for hours.
Bright lights.
Little sleep.
Questionable hydration choices. 😅

The nervous system doesn’t always know the difference between excitement and stress.

Both activate the body.

Here’s my personal survival kit.

Hydrate before you’re thirsty.

Electrolytes are your friend! Enjoy one of my faves LMNT

Your brain, muscles, mood, and recovery all depend on proper hydration.

Breathe deeper than your chest.

When everything around us gets louder, our breath often becomes shorter.

Try this:

Inhale for 4.

Exhale for 6.

Repeat five rounds.

Longer exhales tell the body:

“You’re safe.”

Stretch for five minutes.

Not thirty.

Not an hour.

Five intentional minutes after a festival can make your hips, calves, lower back, and shoulders feel completely different the next morning.

Protect your ears.

Your hearing deserves love too.

Earplugs are wellness.

Eat real food.

Your body will absolutely forgive the late-night fries…

…but maybe give it a smoothie the next morning, too. (Try LUBE’s superfood hemp smoothie mix!)

Why Rest Is Actually Productive

Somewhere along the way we started believing that slowing down meant falling behind.

I don’t buy it.

Rest isn’t quitting.

Rest isn’t laziness.

Rest is maintenance.

Think about your phone.

You charge it every day without feeling guilty.

Yet somehow we expect ourselves to operate at 2% battery forever.

The nervous system works similarly.

Without moments of recovery, we’re simply surviving.

Restorative yoga isn’t about stretching deeper.

It’s about creating enough safety that your body remembers how to soften.

That’s where healing happens.

That’s where creativity returns.

That’s where better decisions come from.

That’s where we remember ourselves.

Some of my best ideas for Yoga Stoned USA didn’t happen while hustling.

They happened while lying on a yoga mat.

Funny how that works.

So if you’ve been waiting for permission to cancel plans, take a nap, lay in the grass, read a book, or simply stare at the clouds…

Here it is.

Consider this your permission slip.

What Your Lungs Need This Summer

With wildfire smoke affecting air quality in many places this season, I’ve been thinking a lot about the lungs.

In Ayurveda, breath is life.

Prana.

The life force that moves through everything.

Traditional Chinese Medicine also considers the lungs incredibly precious.

They’re associated with grief, sorrow, and the ability to let go.

Sometimes when we’re carrying emotional weight, we notice it physically.

A shallow breath.

A tight chest.

A sigh we didn’t realize we were holding.

Whether it’s environmental smoke, stress, heartbreak, or simply moving through another busy season…

Take care of your lungs.

A few gentle rituals I love:

• Practice slow nasal breathing whenever possible.

• Stay hydrated.

• Spend time around trees and nature after poor air-quality days when conditions improve.

• Use a humidifier if the air feels especially dry.

• Rest when your body asks.

One of my favorite Ayurvedic rituals is Nasya.

Traditionally, a tiny amount of ghee or appropriate nasal oil is applied inside the nostrils to help keep the nasal passages comfortable. Some people use a clean cotton swab to lightly coat just the inside of each nostril. (If you have respiratory symptoms, allergies, or medical concerns, check with a healthcare professional before trying it.)

Our lungs carry every breath we’ve ever taken.

Let’s return the favor.

Breathe a little slower.

Love them a little more.

Hemp Note Card

Did You Know?

🌱 Hemp and marijuana are both Cannabis sativa, but hemp is legally defined in the U.S. as containing no more than 0.3% THC by dry weight.

🌱 Hemp seeds are naturally rich in complete plant protein, healthy fats, magnesium, iron, zinc, and fiber.

🌱 Hemp has been used for food, textiles, paper, rope, building materials, and wellness products for generations.

🌱 Supporting hemp also supports farmers, sustainability, and continued education around this incredibly versatile plant.

The more we learn, the more empowered we become.

TAKE ACTION HERE

I can’t wait to practice with you on July 30.

Come exactly as you are.

We’ll breathe.

We’ll rest.

We might even moo.

Because sometimes healing looks like stillness.

Sometimes healing sounds like laughter.

And both belong on the mat.

With love,

Jenny
